About

Iluka situated on over half an acre of north-east facing land, is sufficiently isolated and hosts incredible views over Fitzalan Passage with Whitsunday Island as the backdrop. Along with a stunning wet-edge pool Iluka features soaring wood panelled ceilings, wooden floors and is surrounded with lush, tropical gardens.

This grand, private entertainer boasts 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms over two levels of dual living. Two separate lounge rooms both with integrated music systems and smart televisions, make it the ideal option for families or small groups of up to 11 guests. The home was designed by leading Whitsunday architect Chris Beckingham with the key concept to accommodate extended families in extreme comfort and this is achieved in spades.

The open plan design of the main lounge, kitchen and dining space is framed beautifully with large, louvred windows bringing the views and the breezes inside (should you decide the air conditioning is not needed). Soaring high ceilings, comfortable, well thought out furnishings and stunning artworks compliment this area.

There is a large chef's kitchen with stainless steel appliances including a microwave, oven, gas cooktop and double door fridge plus a dishwasher. With views to die for that any chef would appreciate it's sure to make cooking a pleasure. The indoor dining area has a large window to allow you to experience the views during meals and whilst preparing them.

Bi-fold doors lead you seamlessly from the main kitchen to the luxuriously appointedoutdoor living and alfresco dining area complete with built-in barbecue and a huge daybed - an ideal way to spend an evening in the tropics. Overstuffed furniture adds to the tropical feel along with a love seat nook. Youll spend many hours sitting here relaxing and watching the boats on the water sailing by in the passage between Whitsunday Island and Hamilton Island.

The first of two large master suites with king bed is found on this level and takes advantage of those beautiful soaring wood panelled ceilings. Louvred windows allow even more of that gorgeous sea breeze in and double opening sliding doors leading onto its own private balcony. Walk through the room to a find generous ensuite with bathtub, separate shower, double sinks and toilet. Also on this level there is a second bedroom with king bed and access to the main bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink.

Head downstairs to find a spacious rumpus room with a large couch for lounging on whilst enjoying some TV. Off to the side a secondary kitchenette can be enjoyed for those times when you'd prefer to entertain downstairs. Complete with fridge, microwave, sink and half dishwasher it has everything you need to prepare food or drinks by the pool. The second of two large master suites with king bed is found on this level and again features beautiful soaring wood panelled ceilings and double opening sliding doors leading onto it's own private balcony. There is a generous ensuite with bathtub, separate shower, double sinks and toilet.

There are two further bedrooms on this level, each with twin beds and serviced by a separate bathroom. A large laundry is tucked away discreetly down the hall that leads to a second master suite, again with it's own ensuite with bathtub (with a view), separate shower, double sinks and toilet. It also has a balcony with tropical garden views.

An airbed or port-a-cot can be arranged for a child.

The rumpus room leads you out to the terrace with sun lounges, manicured lawns and a 10m infinity wet edge pool where you can cool off whilst admiring those gorgeous views. There's even a powder room with toilet and washbasin. Additional features such as the two outdoor showers add to the feeling of luxury and every convenience being catered for. Walk down to the next level of this garden so the kids (and the big kids) can discover the large trampoline and quaint cubby tree house - perfectly complimenting this well-equipped, luxurious family home.

Included along with return airport transfers are two 4-person electric buggies in distinctive orange, making them easy to find amongst the regular white buggies common to Hamilton Island. You'll love exploring the island like a local. A brisk walk will take you to the sunset bar and there is also a complimentary shuttle bus.

For a memorable holiday like no other, you cant go past the luxury and privacy offered by this property. With plenty of room for families or groups there is something for everyone to enjoy. We look forward to welcoming you.

Superb house

October 2020

Overall
5

We have all returned safely to NZ and we have come back to lovely weather which has made it easier after the wonderful holiday we had in Hamilton Island.I was going to write a review of Iluka on Trip Advisor but can’t find a reference so am writing to you instead. All that you said about Iluka in your promotional material is true. It is a superb house and yet we settled into it from the moment of arriving. Indoor/outdoor flow is a housing cliche but this house exemplifies what that term means. We paid more for this accommodation than we would ordinarily look at but it was well worth it for the experience. Also we came to realise that the inclusion of the two buggies in the price was a considerable benefit. We were so happy to be in the house that we prepared and ate all our meals there which was a great saving. Our 4 grandsons were content spending time in the pool so we didn’t have to pay to entertain them elsewhere. We returned thinking that Iluka was very good value for money. All 10 of us had a great time. I’m sure my grandsons will remember Iluka for many years to come.

We had a lovely time at Iluka

The house was beautiful and provided us with all the space and comfort we needed for our stay. We will definitely recommend it to friends and family.Your Valet service was prompt, friendly and efficient also, which added to a very easy and relaxing trip. All in all though we had a wonderful time and look forward to a return at some stage

Wonderful stay!

We did have a wonderful stay at Iluka and thought the house was the best we have stayed in so far on Hamilton Island. Rooms well appointed and kitchen equipped very well. Loved the outdoor area and pool. We would love to come back and stay again in the future.

Best place for a holiday

My family of three generations had a wonderful time at Hamilton Island and on visits to Whitehaven Beach and the Great Barrier Reef.It was the house, Iluka, that contributed greatly to the magic of our too-short vacation and time together. The house is beautifully sited, carefully and sufficiently isolated, and positioned for views of the passage between Hamilton and Whitsunday Islands; and close enough to the Sunset Bar (with a steep climb) for views in most directions. The house is wonderfully appointed; all that is needed is to add your own food and drinks, supplied at understandable cost by a variety of island and Airlie Beach caterers. The upstairs lounge, dining and undercover outdoor areas have views, comfort, space and furniture, and an area that allows ease of movement for six adults and five children. Beds in all five bedrooms are comfortable, and two main bedrooms are spacious. There are plenty of bathrooms for a crowd. The accolades for Iluka come from the children. ‘This is the best place for a holiday. Thanks, Grandad!” The infinity pool was used when the sun was warm enough, the cubby house had a few visits, and the trampoline was in constant use. The trampoline was as well-designed and as safe as it could be.
